:I believe that ܫܘܬܣܐ or ܫܘܬܣ mean ''basics'' or ''fundamentals'' when used in grammatical contexts. So ''basics of Aramaic'' should be "ܫܘܬܣ ܕܠܫܢܐ ܐܪܡܝܐ". If you want to say "I understand basic Aramaic" it should be something like "ܡܣܬܟܠ ܐܢܐ ܥܠ ܫܘܬܣܐ ܕܠܫܢܐ ܐܪܡܝܐ".
